Thank Goodness I'm off for a couple of days.  The strain of not smoking combined with work hasn't been good for me.  I've been chewing Nicorette like it's going out of style and have only cheated once with a co-worker.  I do feel better and I haven't had a headache in 3 days.  I just hope and pray that I can kick the fuckers this time.  

We're less than a week away from Christmas and thankfully short of my parents, I'm done.  My parents are the two hardest people in the world to buy for that I've ever seen.  I'm thinking Gift cards to places that no one but them could possibly use.  I'm off the first time in ages on Christmas so I'm not sure what I'll end up doing, but I'll enjoy it for sure.

Oh well expect more tomorrow (or later today)

General Stuff

I'm going to try and stop smoking again tomorrow. I've got a bit of a love hate relationship with cigarettes. I've smoked off and on since I was 15 or 16 years old so I know my lungs are already fucked, but I don't want them to be fucked any more than they already are. Cigarettes have been my best friend and my worst enemy. When bad shit happens, whether it be personal or work related, a nice box of Camel Lights is always there to welcome me and calm me down. I do enjoy smoking. There's nothing better than a cigarette first thing in the morning, and there's nothing better than a cigarette after a good meal or after other activities. This marks the fifth or sixth time that I've attempted to give them up. I hope and pray it sticks this time. I'm going the route of the gum since it helped me before and I just gave them up. I'd love to try the Chantix, but I'm afraid it would fuck up the delicate balance that my anti-anxiety meds have given me.

I'm playing thru the Bourne Conspiracy right now and I truly feel that it's a shit game. I love the story and I love the fighting, but the gunplay sucks out loud. For the next Bourne game, I'd love to see a behind 3rd person cam instead of what we have now. This game at least to me is a rental at best. It would be a fantastic game if not for the gunplay.

This picture says it all and it's up to $4.99 a gallon now. The Haslams are the biggest crooks in Knoxville and one of the biggest crooks across the nation along with the rest of their oil brethren. They're being sued for gas gouging in Florida and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they're not sued here. Pilot isn't charging that high a gas price in the rest of the state. It's because they actually have competition in the rest of the state. Shame on you Pilot you crooked motherfuckers. I bet Hell won't have a heating problem since the Haslams will be there supplying gas for heat.

4 Posts and a Baby

The Euro 2008 final is Spain vs Germany for all the marbles. I told you the luck would run out for Turkey and Russia, but all footy fans should be in awe of what those two teams did during UEFA. I just hope they both get into the World Cup Competition in 2010. If I had to pick a winner right now, It would be Germany. Germany has been really strong most all of the tourney. I'll be watching Sunday at 2:30p to be sure.

I've never been a big fan of web based emails, but I now use Gmail as my primary email. It's just so handy to be able to log in anywhere. I hate Yahoo and Hotmail's interfaces, but Gmail is just perfect.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on being a 360 gamer again. I've run across a couple of deals that suit my wallet. Scott aka EG said he knew I couldn't stay gone long and he was right. I should have one later today.

I just went over 300 posts (probably closer to 400 if you count the ones I deleted). This blog has been the best form of therapy there is for me. It's been nice to just beat out my feelings on a keyboard.

It's amazing how much time changes everything. It's not been that long ago that my good friend Quint was wondering if his wife Barb and little John would do ok. Look at this little guy now. Good Lord!!! Congrats Jim and Barb. I'm no doctor, but it looks to me like the little fella is doin pretty good.

Gmail I just received

Crazy ass Africans!!!! I think everyone who reads this blog should enter this person's name into every spam engine on the internet. I love these emails and can't believe that people actually fall for them. This one does something I've never seen before, by trying to prey on Christians and mentioning God and Church alot. Good thing for me, I've not been to church in a long time and don't pray that often, and I'm not falling for it. I'll break down this email line by line.

I want a church that will use this fund for orphanages, widows, propagating the word of God and to endeavour that the house of God is maintained. (Ok so how are we gonna get the money if it's in a "suspended" account. What church gets it, the first Church of Scammers?. Crabs and Diarrhea are a problem, cancer is a sickness)

The Bible made us to understand that blessed is the hand that giveth. Memorial Day

When you're out on your picnics, swimming trips, and other assorted memorial day jaunts today take a moment to remember those who've give their lives for our freedom. God bless the families of each person who has lost their lives in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, The Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Somalia, Bosnia, Granada, and Iraq. I'm sure I left a few out and for that I apologize. I'm not in agreement over the war in Iraq, but I stand behind and support our brave men and women in uniform of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Bless you all and thanks for keeping our country as free as possible.

Is there anything truly as great in life as the internet? Here's just a few of the things that I couldn't do before the internet.

1. Play games with people in St. Louis, Cleveland, and New York City all at the same time (Quint, EG, and Isles).

2. Be called a faggot in twenty different languages over XBOX Live as well as other racist terms. For the Record BigChief63, I'm not a homo n-word, nor do I bang my relatives, but thanks for the lovely comments.

3. Order a pizza with no human contact other than opening the front door.

4. Listen to the greatness of Howard Stern, Kidd Chris, and the Miserable Men show without leaving the Bible Belt and without fear of being burned at the stake by my neighbors.

5. MEET HOT SEXY SINGLES ONLINE (sorry that was a popup and I couldn't resist)

6. Be able to find out info on any damn thing in the world.

7. I've learned of countless sex acts that I'd have never thought of own my own and things I hope to never think of again.

8. Chat with people about what you're having for dinner or any other stupd shit you'd never talk to anyone who was standing next to you about.

9. In real life no one wants to hear my fucking thoughts on anything, but surprisingly you good people seem to read my thoughts on a daily basis for reasons I'll never know. Thank you for doing it.

10. Two Words-Special X. How in the world would I have ever known what Connie and Cheeseburger look like without WYSP.com? How would I have known about Metro's Squid Hat, or Vinnie's Guido Hat or Blake's zitty back without pictures? Thanks to the internet and the good management of WYSP, I now know these things.

Saturday Thoughts

I'm tired as heck today because I had to work overnights last night but I didn't mind because it was for a friend of mine whose father is close to death. I'll save my 3 day weekend for next weekend.

I got the map pack for COD4 before all hell broke loose on XBOX Live yesterday. I love this game and I've enjoyed playing it thus far.

Kidd Chris was amazing this week. Brady (a regular caller) cracks me up. I love that dude.

Catching Up on Friday

I need to post a "catch up" type blog today as what I've posted this week has been short narratives of what I've found interesting this week. First of all a plug for one of my commenters. This young lady has some of the most beautiful photography I've ever seen and seems to be a true artist with the camera. The colors are just outstanding and so lifelike and the pictures of Icarus the mute swan are some of the best photography I've seen. Here's a link to blog if you're interested. The Howard Stern Show was incredible this week with Mr. Takei being in. I think most of my readers know that George Takei is one of my favorites on the Show and I really wish that he were on more often. Maybe Howard can spring for an ISDN line for George so he can just pop in whenever he'd like. The friendly banter between Artie and George is what makes his appearances worthwhile.

Just on a side note I'm so tired of people judging me because I listen to Howard Stern. This is the typical response: "YOU LISTEN TO HIM? WHY?". I think that most people have a picture of Howard Stern in their head that he's just 100 percent filth and nastiness at all times, and that's just not the case. Howard Stern and his fiancee Beth Ostrosky are two of the biggest advocates of Animal Rights and donate millions to the North Shore Animal League. Just last week, Howard devoted a significant amount of time to a lost bulldog in NYC named Clara and thanks to Howard, the dog was found safe and sound two days after she went missing. You simply cannot call someone "100 percent filth and nastiness" who does things like that or watches Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, or the Bachelor. I'm so tired of Howard getting a bad rap. If you give the show a listen I will guarantee that you laugh at least 10 times over the course of a show and you'll find your heart touched at some point as well, and I guarantee that you'll come away with a different view of Howard than you had before.

Wednesday Thoughts

I'm still in love with the Blackjack II. If I had known this thing was this cool, I would have gotten one ages ago. There's just so much you can do with this thing, it's crazy. There's a program you can download to listen to Sirius and I was rocking Howard Stern this morning on my phone. I get all my email from my various home and work accounts and can even post to blogger as evidenced by the test message yesterday. It's just a truly incredible device. The battery life is great considering how much I used it yesterday. I'm finding new stuff that I can do with it every single day. I've even started using the Calendar and planner to get more organized. My memory isn't the best in the world, so I figure this will help me remember stuff. If any reader has some suggestions for some good programs, please please please comment. I'd love to get some cool programs for it.

I still need to pickup Hot Shots Golf (sorry Quint, EG and others). I've been lax on gaming for the last week as I've had other stuff occupying my time. I still need to finish up God of War II and I have Devil May Cry 4 from Gamefly right now, and I still haven't opened Metal Gear Solid or Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I'm anxiously awaiting Knight and Jim's rosters for MLB08. Basically, my PS3, my PSP, and my 360 are all not speaking to me now. I've also got COD4 on the way as well.

The Cubs are horrid, but Fukudome seems to be doing really well. The Tigers have been bad as well. It's not been a good opening to the Baseball season for my two favorite teams.
