Really is anyone else sick of this woman? I'm tired of hearing about her and her 8 children. If she didn't have enough money to raise the kids, why did she do it? 14 friggin kids. That's ridiculous

DTV Transition moved back to June
Since I work in engineering at a local tv station, this is something I've been watching rather closely. The house yesterday moved the deadline to June and created a big dilemma for US Broadcasters. Should we leave the analog signal on and reap the benefits of having both signals for two ratings periods (March and May) or go ahead and cut the cord and lose out on four months of extra revenue? It's a dilemma for people far above me to decide thankfully. It appears that as many as 6 million Americans still aren't even close to being ready for the digital switchover even though the deadline has been in place for quite a long time. I really wish that Congress had stuck to the original deadline because Americans would have been without tv for a few days, bitched about it, then went out and got their converter boxes and remedied the situation. I can see both sides of the issue though. I've been ready for the digital switchover since 2004 because there's nothing better than HDTV as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks Mr. Obama for setting executive pay limits
Brilliant idea Mr. Obama and something that all Americans on both sides of the aisle should be thankful to you for. I'm thrilled with this decision and would have loved to have seen jail time or penalties for any company which violates this. As most of my readers on this blog know, I've been against both of these bailout bills, but I do appreciate the steps taken by Mr. Obama to limit pay for these shyster executives.
Asshole of the Moment-Tom Daschle

The asshole of the moment is Tom Daschle. Seriously, pay your fucking taxes dude. You sat on your fat fucking ass in Washington and doled out laws to Americans and expected us to pay taxes but you didn't? This type of outlandish behavior seems to have surprised many folks, but it didn't surprise me. The whole "Do as I say, not as I do" movement is typical of Washington Politics and I'm glad to see this douche bag head back to South Dakota. Congratulations Mr. Daschle, you are the asshole of the moment.

Random Stuff (Godfather II, Andrew Card )
EA has moved the Godfather II back to sometime around May or June. I was really looking forward to it and after seeing all the movies that were posted on Gametrailers in the last few days, I was even more excited about it. I truly wish this game was coming out at the end of February, but I can wait for it. It will give me more time to play the first one and beat it.
The Asshole of the day today is Andrew Card who was a former member of Dubya's staff. Card has been criticizing of all things, the way Obama dressed in his interview with Matt Lauer on Super Bowl Sunday. Who gives a fuck what he wears seriously? It seems some folks just like to bitch. I don't care if Obama wears jeans and a t-shirt with "Who Farted?" on the front, as long as he's doing his job. Thank you Andrew for being the asshole of the moment
Tomorrow is Killzone 2 demo day. Make sure to pre-order and get your demo code for one Sony's biggest cogs in 2009. I'm anxiously awaiting the moment it goes up to download.

The so-called "Michael Phelps Controversy"
Michael Phelps was photographed smoking weed and I say 'SO WHAT". As the commercial says, it's just a little pot. Pot is illegal because the US Government says it's illegal. If they could figure out a way to tax it, then it would be legal. I've tried it before (several times actually) and chances are the same people who are pointing fingers at Phelps, did the same thing. Enough with the hypocrisy.

Ted Haggard on Oprah today
God I love watching supposed "Men of God" go down and go down hard. This guy openly preached against homosexuality and how wrong it was, and had a gay affair and lost his church. Karma is a bitch Mr. Haggard. Normally I don't pay any attention to Oprah when I work other than to make sure I have good video and good audio, but I'll be watching today.

The tv show "The Insider" sucks
This is one of the biggest turds on television. They did a story tonight on how Michelle Obama can keep her weight down while living in the White House. Michelle Obama is quite beautiful and she's not fat at all. Give the lady a fucking break for God's sake. They had Valerie Bertenelli on to tell Michelle Obama how to stay slim. They even supered her with the title "Diet Expert' They should have supered her with "One hit wonder who fucked a druggie rock star and whose career is so bad now that she had to be a spokesperson for a weight loss company". Fuck you Insider. Lay off Michelle Obama.

Good for Obama
1 day in office and Obama is already turning Washington on it's ear. He ordered a salary freeze for workers who earn over $100,000 in the White House, limited lobbyists, wants troops out of Iraq by June 2010, and gave an executive order to shut down the Guantanimo Bay prison camp. Good for him is all I can say. I'd love to see those imprisoned in Guantanimo Bay put into general population in American prisons to see what happens to them. As a matter of fact, I'd like to see them go to a federal prison in NY to be close to the people most affected on September 11th. Let's see how long they last after that. I didn't vote for Obama, but I'm firmly behind our Commander in Chief now and he's impressed me thus far.

Living the Movie I guess
I guess they just had to be like their hero the Notorious BIG. What a bunch of idiots to say the least. I'm sure the producers of the movie love this. A movie about an idiot who got shot dead causes more idiots to be shot at said movie. Yet another case of people being flat out stupid and there's truly no cure for that.
Reflecting back on 8 years of Dubya
Things Mr. Bush was responsible for:
2 wars (1 necessary, 1 not so necessary)
Countless problems with security.
Continued loss of personal freedoms thanks to the Patriot Act
The lowest approval rating ever
I don't feel that Dubya deserves the blame for the economy. We've got the Democratic and Republican led Congresses for the economic problems. I've seen far too many people point the finger directly at Bush for the economy and frankly, he doesn't deserve that. Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic Friends deserve as much of the blame for that as the Republican leadership in the House and the Senate. As an avowed Libertarian, I'll remind my readers again that Democrats and Republicans got us into all the messes that we're in right now, not just President Bush. I don't like Bush and haven't liked him for quite some time. If you look back over the course of this blog, you'll see that, so don't take me as a Bush Supporter or a Bush apologist. I'm as glad as anyone to see him go. I just don't feel that he deserves the blame for the economic state of the nation.
Goodbye Mr. Bush and Good luck Mr. Obama.

A Revolution
With Barack Obama's historic inauguration on Tuesday, I think somewhere Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King are smiling right now, and that makes me smile as well. Barack Obama is the personification of Martin Luther King's dream speech, and let's face it, Obama's historic run wouldn't have been possible without King fighting for civil rights and Rosa Park's refusal to give up her seat. Reflecting upon this inauguration, I'm reminded that change and revolution begin much in the same way a body of water begins, with a small drop. Where would we be now, had Rosa Park decided to do the status quo and move to the back of the bus? Where would we be now had the citizens of Boston decided not to dump the tea into the Boston Harbor? Where would we be right now had Susan B. Anthony decided not to fight for womens' suffrage? My point is that every great revolution begins with one small event that shakes the foundations of the status quo and I hope that the election of Barack Obama leads to bigger and better things for not just African Americans, but all Americans of every color, creed, and sexual orientation. You're witnessing the beginning of a great revolution, so ride the seas of change, and prepare for what is hopefully a great ride.

RIP Ricardo Montalban
Rest in peace. I'm reminded of the classic prank phone calls that Kidd Chris made to George Takei posing as Ricardo which were instant classics.

Obama advocates College Playoff
From the AP
WASHINGTON -- President-elect Barack Obama says he still believes there needs to be a playoff system to determine country's major-college football champion.
Obama, asked what he thought about Florida's 24-14 victory Thursday night against Oklahoma in the FedEx BCS National Championship Game, congratulated the Gators and said he'd sent a message to a friend whose son plays for the team.
At the same time, he said, "If I'm Utah, or if I'm USC or if I'm Texas, I might still have some quibbles."

President Obama may hold up DTV Transition
Kudos to President Obama for wanting to hold up the DTV Transition from it's February 17th deadline. The converter box coupon program has run out of money and the FCC has botched yet another deadline. I've worked in the television industry for 15 years and this has been nothing short of a mess. The FCC has required all stations to run crawls and spots stating that February 17th is a "hard out" date for analog television, yet stores have little to no supply of converter boxes. Those who work in the media know that "To err is human, to really screw things up takes the FCC".

Frist not running for Governor of Tennessee
Thank God Bill Frist isn't running for governor of Tennessee. I detested Mr. Frist for his obvious mistreatment of animals during his med school days, and I'm thrilled that he's not going to be running for governor of Tennessee.

Shame on Best Buy
Best Buy again deceives it's customers
So Best Buy decides to show two tv's (one hooked up with HDMI and one hooked up with component) to show the difference between their calibration service and not using their calibration service. It's a shame that it's Circuit City going out of business and not Best Buy. Best Buy is one of the biggest crooks in retail and I detest them. I'd rather drive across town to go somewhere else than go to Best Buy. I hate Best Buy with a passion and this is yet another reason.

Oprah gets burned again
Just a sad story
I love it when Oprah gets burned. This is the second time she's been burned by a lying author with the first being James Frey. I think it's really sad that Rosenblatt felt the need to lie about something as horrid as the holocaust. These book publishers really need to start checking non-fiction much much more closely as the line between fiction and non-fiction appears to be blurring a bit.

"A Day that will live in Infamy"
Take a moment today to remember one of our nation's greatest tragedies, the tragedy at Pearl Harbor. It instantly launched us into World War 2. Remember the vets who perished in World War 2.
