I've made a february resolution. No more fast food for a long time. My weight has ballooned quite a bit the last few months thanks to fast food, so I'm not going to do it anymore unless it's healthy and frankly there's not a lot of healthy out there. I walked a couple of miles this morning as well. It's time to get fit

Cold Cold Cold
So I get out this morning and it's 5 degrees and on my way to my destination, I get a flat tire. What good luck and it's loads of fun to change a tire in 5 degree weather.

Good news (at least for my dad)
My dad informed me yesterday that he's retiring in April to spend more times with the Grandkids. Congrats Pop!!! I wish I could retire.

Sorry for the lack of posts today. I've had a stomach virus that's pretty much kicked my ass all day long and last night as well. I can't ever remember being this sick.

New Year's Resolutions
Well everyone has to have some New Year's Resolution and here's mine. We'll look back on these on December 31st 2009 to see how I did
1. Quit Smoking-The hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I'm way down from what I used to smoke, but I need to stop completely, and I haven't been able to do it so far.
2. Lose Some Weight-I've been back on Slimfast for the last 3 days. I'd like to lose 40 lbs or so and I'm really going to work on it. I was well on my way in the first couple of months of 2008, but that got all screwed up.
3. Game online more. I've been very lax with playing online with friends and I need to get back into it. I haven't really touched Gears of War 2 much and haven't played with Quint in ages. Hopefully MLB09 will change that.
4. Write more App Reviews
5. Write more game reviews

2008- A year in Review
Here's a timeline of my 2008
January-The year started out badly when my Panasonic HDTV died on me. Rather than get it fixed, I replaced it with a 37 inch Olevia LCD TV.
February-A few things happened which will not be mentioned here. I promised that I wouldn't mention it again and I will honor that. Thanks to all my friends for helping me thru that. It made me a better person, and I'm better off for it.
March-The Show, The Show, The Show. MLB08. Quint and I had countless battles and I look forward to continuing those in 2009. My dad had a real scare again with cancer but thankfully everything turned out just fine.
April-I met the A&A Crew and they're still with me today thankfully :) I now have a best friend and a bestest bud as well. I also began morning shift hell which ended in October
May-August-In May, Kidd Chris left the air thanks to the silliness of CBS Radio. We still await his return. I cancelled Sirius and got XM with the best of Sirius Package
I got an IPhone which is still the greatest device known to man.
September-December-not alot went on here either. The blog went thru several redesigns and I added a few features.
For those keeping score at home, here's a count on the electronics I went thru this year
Cell Phones
Motorola Razr, Samsung Blackjack II, IPhone 2g, IPhone 3G
I had 2 Playstation 3's in 2008 and four XBOX360's. I had four PSP's in 2008 as well
Let's hope 2009 goes well!!!

Good Morning to everyone
Well I'm off for the first time in ages on Christmas. When you work in the business I work in, holidays off are few and far between.
Andrew got a Wii along with Smash Bros for Christmas. Now admittedly, I'm not a fan of the Wii, but I have enjoyed watching Smash Bros. Ashley got a razor, a necklace, and one of the greatest movies ever, "Johnny Dangerously". Santa was good to me as well. I received money, an ITunes Gift Card, and a Gamestop gift card.
Again, Merry Christmas to everyone who reads today.

What I'm thankful for
First of all Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who reads this. Here's a few of the things I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving
I'm thankful for Ashley and Andrew. You guys have made all the difference in my life and made life a joy once again
I'm thankful that after 35 years I'm still kicking. Glory be to God for that one
I'm thankful for Ashley and Andrew. You guys have made all the difference in my life and made life a joy once again
I'm thankful for my little turkeys at home which won't be eaten today. They're rotten anyways, so no one would eat them anyway.
I'm thankful for things that have happened in my life and even though I didn't know they were helpful at the time.
I'm thankful for my family. My Mom, My Dad, my sister, and my niece and nephew
I'm thankful for good friends. Scott, Jim, Barb, Steve, Alan and so many others.
I'm thankful that I have a job in this tough economic time.
I'm thankful that I'm able to pay my mortgage and all my bills every month. There's lots of folks who can't and I'm glad to be able to
I'm thankful for each and every one of my readers. You guys keep me going
I'm thankful for each and every service member of the US Military. Thanks to those guys and gals who keep us safe and free
I'm thankful the Titans are finally playing on Thanksgiving so I'll have something to watch :)
Again, Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Happy Thanksgiving to all
I'd like to wish everyone who comes across this blog a Happy Thanksgiving. Gorge yourselves on Turkey and football and have a great day.

35 today
Well today is my 35th birthday and I awoke to ACDC's new CD Black Ice as well as a nice pair of house slippers. It's been a good birthday so far and since Tennessee has an open date, there's no chance of them losing.
I'd like to take a second to say thanks to the man upstairs for 35 years of life. My life's been a rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs but it's all been worth it.

Vacation Woohoo
I'm off on vacation. It's time to finish up some games and just enjoy being away from work for a week and a half.

Halloween Wrapup
We didn't get alot of tricker treaters at the old Casa De Roland this year. I handed out two bags of candy. It looks as if Andrew hit the motherload as far as candy goes as I'm sitting here munching on some reese cups. In the past, I've always been down in the dumps in October, but this October has been fantastic, but I'm still glad to see it gone. The ole birthday is in less than two weeks. I'll be 35 and I'm still kicking

Newest Andrew-ism
So Andrew and I were watching television today and Richard Petty popped up on the screen. He said "It's the king, Manny Petty". I'm not sure why but I laughed really hard.

Dave's Still Not Here Man, even a year later
Well it's a year later and I'm still blogging as close to every day as possible. My life has radically changed since 10-28-07. I've seen my life go from bad to worse to being pretty damn good again and I feel that this blog helped me quite a bit in coping thru everything I've been thru in the last year. As I've said on this blog a million times, this is my therapy. I sit down at the keyboard and bang away in laughter, frustration, anger, sadness, madness, and all other ranges of emotions, but at the end of each post, I find I come away feeling better about what I just wrote about or at least getting something off my chest.
So let's take a look at a few trends and some changes from the last year. On 10-28-07, I had an XBOX360 and a PS3. I lost both of those earlier this year, but now have a 360 again. I lost a PSP during that time and haven't replaced it as of yet. I've been thru 3 Cell Phones, Motorola Razor, Samsung Blackjack II Windows Smartphone, and ended up with my IPhone (which I'm planning on keeping for a long time). I've had a total of four laptops over the last year (keeping two of them and flipping two on Craigslist) and I've replaced one desktop with another. I've become a full blown Libertarian and vowed off Republicans and Democrats for good.
It's been quite a year for the blog as well. I've been mentioned on the Kidd Chris Show a few times (Goddamn I still miss the show and hope it comes back soon), as well as the Miserable Men Show, a few IPhone websites, a few Sports websites, and a few other places along the way. I've been very proud of my "work" on the blog. I've had quite a few hits go to Bob Barr's Website, but the thing I'm most proud of is that I've had quite a few folks leave the blog and go to the ASPCA's website. That makes me happiest of all. If that banner on the right can make one person help an animal in need, then it's all worth it. If I can help one homeless animal in need, then I've done right by myself.
I'd like to thank each and every one of my readers. Whether it's the person that stops by on a random websearch, or the folks who read my blog every single day. Thank you so much. I get several hundred hits a day, and for that I'm so thankful to the readers. I hope you'll stick around and read more. I hope I've provided you with something to think about or laugh at during your day.
I'd also like to say thanks to a few other folks. To the A&A crew (they know who they are), you two have made me laugh, cry and have made me the happiest I've been in a long time. I find myself laughing so much more now, and that's both of your faults. I love both of you dearly. Scott, thanks for the writing gig over at WNR and the endless hours of chat on AIM, and thanks for giving me shit to do when my life was at one of it's lowest points ever. You helped me get up, dust off my pants, and go on. You and Michelle have a fantastic baby boy and I'm so proud to have you as a friend. To Jim aka Quint, I don't even know where to begin. My life was a wreck and you and your lovely wife swooped in to help me up. The phone calls and messages and comments really just made all the difference in the world for me. You're a great person and one of the best friends I've ever had in my life and have the greatest wife in the world and the greatest group of kids in the world (How's little man doing by the way? Would it kill ya to post a new picture every now and again heh). I'm so proud to have you and Barb as friends.
Well let's see if we can write another one of these up in a year. Until then, cheers and thanks for reading my little ole blog.

Ughh Part 2
I'm still sick as hell and still haven't cracked the plastic on Dead Space yet and I've only played two games of FIFA 09. It's so much better than FIFA 08 in every way.
My quick prediction for UT vs Mississippi State is that Mississippi State wins in a shocker.
Sorry for the lack of posts, but I just don't feel much like posting.
