Dave's Still Not Here Man, even a year later

Well it's a year later and I'm still blogging as close to every day as possible. My life has radically changed since 10-28-07. I've seen my life go from bad to worse to being pretty damn good again and I feel that this blog helped me quite a bit in coping thru everything I've been thru in the last year. As I've said on this blog a million times, this is my therapy. I sit down at the keyboard and bang away in laughter, frustration, anger, sadness, madness, and all other ranges of emotions, but at the end of each post, I find I come away feeling better about what I just wrote about or at least getting something off my chest.

So let's take a look at a few trends and some changes from the last year. On 10-28-07, I had an XBOX360 and a PS3. I lost both of those earlier this year, but now have a 360 again. I lost a PSP during that time and haven't replaced it as of yet. I've been thru 3 Cell Phones, Motorola Razor, Samsung Blackjack II Windows Smartphone, and ended up with my IPhone (which I'm planning on keeping for a long time). I've had a total of four laptops over the last year (keeping two of them and flipping two on Craigslist) and I've replaced one desktop with another. I've become a full blown Libertarian and vowed off Republicans and Democrats for good.

It's been quite a year for the blog as well. I've been mentioned on the Kidd Chris Show a few times (Goddamn I still miss the show and hope it comes back soon), as well as the Miserable Men Show, a few IPhone websites, a few Sports websites, and a few other places along the way. I've been very proud of my "work" on the blog. I've had quite a few hits go to Bob Barr's Website, but the thing I'm most proud of is that I've had quite a few folks leave the blog and go to the ASPCA's website. That makes me happiest of all. If that banner on the right can make one person help an animal in need, then it's all worth it. If I can help one homeless animal in need, then I've done right by myself.

I'd like to thank each and every one of my readers. Whether it's the person that stops by on a random websearch, or the folks who read my blog every single day. Thank you so much. I get several hundred hits a day, and for that I'm so thankful to the readers. I hope you'll stick around and read more. I hope I've provided you with something to think about or laugh at during your day.

I'd also like to say thanks to a few other folks. To the A&A crew (they know who they are), you two have made me laugh, cry and have made me the happiest I've been in a long time. I find myself laughing so much more now, and that's both of your faults. I love both of you dearly. Scott, thanks for the writing gig over at WNR and the endless hours of chat on AIM, and thanks for giving me shit to do when my life was at one of it's lowest points ever. You helped me get up, dust off my pants, and go on. You and Michelle have a fantastic baby boy and I'm so proud to have you as a friend. To Jim aka Quint, I don't even know where to begin. My life was a wreck and you and your lovely wife swooped in to help me up. The phone calls and messages and comments really just made all the difference in the world for me. You're a great person and one of the best friends I've ever had in my life and have the greatest wife in the world and the greatest group of kids in the world (How's little man doing by the way? Would it kill ya to post a new picture every now and again heh). I'm so proud to have you and Barb as friends.

Well let's see if we can write another one of these up in a year. Until then, cheers and thanks for reading my little ole blog.
