More XMEN Origins Wolverine game impressions

This post may contain slight spoilers for the game so beware

I'm on mission 4 out of 5 and I just met up with the Blob in some supermarket after finishing up the epic Sentinel battle. The game is a bit repetitive and the story does jump around a bit too much, but the game is just mindless fun. I compared it to God of War, but the combat to me is actually better due to the amount of moves Wolverine can do. There's nothing more fun than pouncing on someone who seems just out of reach and I love the fact that the developers (Raven) built places in the story where pouncing on an enemy is necessary to continue. I love throwing enemies off buildings, impaling enemies on objects in the environment, and doing quick kills as well.

I did unlock all of the classic costumes in the game by finding the action figures, but the game adds in a twist. You must then go to the arena and defeat those characters to be able to play the single player game with those costumes. I'm currently using the X-Force Costume during my SP. No offense to Hugh Jackman, but old school Wolverine needs some love too. I'm playing on the PS3 to up my horrid trophy count, but there are many achievements for the 360 version as well. The trophies are plentiful and easy to get. I've never been an achievement or trophy whore, but I'm finding it fun to go for some of the trophies for killing enemies in a certain way.

Overall, I'm still impressed with Wolverine and feel that it is truly worth a buy or a rental. Fantastic game and Raven should be applauded for making the most of the Wolverine license. This is the Wolverine game I've always wanted to play.
