3 top Coaching Candidates for UT

Apparently, this is the top 3 as of right now

Jon Gruden-supposedly is in Knoxville right now for the Homecoming game.  The question is if UT could afford his salary and if he would have any interest in coming back to coach in college.

Lane Kiffin-knows how to recruit and knows offense.  A big plus if he could get his father Monte Kiffin to come along with him.  Supposedly in town yesterday playing golf with Big Daddy Jim Haslam (father of Pilot Oil and biggest UT booster of all)

Butch Davis-yep, I know he said he has no interest, but we all know coaches lie.

Honorable Mentions and rumors and speculations (at least at this point)

Mike Leach-TX Tech.  Has a $500,000 buyout and TX Tech wants to renegotiate after the season.  TX Tech can't come anywhere near the amount of money UT Could offer to Leach.

Chris Petersen-nothing more than a rumor at this point

Bill Cowher-not sure where people are getting this rumor, but it's a pipe dream as far as I'm concerned.

On the local sports talk show yesterday they actually mentioned that Petersen from Boise State was a Scientologist and Leach was a Mormon and wondered if that would make a difference to UT fans.  If religion truly matters to a fan, then that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.  I don't care if the coach is a practicing Satanist as long as he wins.  Religion makes no difference to me in the least.
