Baseball thoughts

Well my favorite baseball team the XXXX clinched the National League Central yesterday. I'm hoping for a march thru the rest of September and all the way thru October. I won't mention their names since they've done better this season.

The feel good story of the baseball season is still thriving as the Tampa Bay Devils Rays clinched the AL East over the mighty Red Sox and the mighty Yankees as well. I'd love to see a XXXX vs Rays World Series. I'm so glad to see that the Rays won their division over the big spending Yanks and Sox and it just goes to show that good fundamental baseball CAN beat out huge spending in the national pastime. I hope the Orioles,Pirates, Reds, and all the other bottom dwellers are taking note.

Speaking of the Yanks, Yankee Stadium closes for the final time and it saddens me a bit. I'm not a Yankees fan in the least, but that place is as good a cathedral for baseball as any of the other parks. The House that Ruth built will be gone and in it's place will be the house that Steinbrenner built. It's a bit sad in the way.
