Memorable Moments of 2008 (at least for me)

Here's a few of my favorite moments and events in 2008.

Politics
Seeing history be made for the first time in US Politics with the election of Barack Obama. I'm not a fan of his yet, but it's still nice to see history be made and see that black is nothing more than a color to the majority of Americans.

Seeing Hillary Clinton fail again. Your husband was a great president. No one likes you

Ron Paul's run at the White House. I'd love for him to make a run of it again in 2012. Thank you Mr. Paul for taking our cause to the nation

Seeing Elliot Spitzer, another holier than thou Republican taken down via a sex scandal

Seeing yet another Illinois political official embroiled in scandal. Good riddance Mr. Blagfkjasfdkajsdfklafdavich.

No more W as of January 2009. That's definitely a good thing

The Iraqi reporter throwing his shoes at W. Best political moment of 2008

Sports
Michael Phelps and his gold medals on the cover of SI

Seeing the Tampa Bay Rays make it to the World Series. The run of the Rays made me a fan and I'm sure it made a few other people hop the bandwagon as well.

Lane Kiffin being named the head coach of the Vols and knowing in the back of my mind that Monte would be making his way here as well.

UT making it to the Sweet 16. I hope they make it farther this year

Fulmer crying his crocodile tears at his farewell press conference knowing damn good and well he had 6 million in his pocket.

Chavis getting a job at LSU (allegedly). The chief is one of the few UT staff members that I rooted to get a big time job.

The Cubs failing again (sign) and seeing the Red Sox and Yankees fall to the Rays.

Entertainment
This little ole blog getting mentioned on the Kidd Chris Show and Miserable Men a few times. I hope Kidd Christ makes it back soon.

Kidd Chris leaving the air in Philly

Yet another staged "cliffhanger" before a Stern Show vacation involving Artie Lange.

Bubba The Love Sponge going off on Sirius Management which proved to be a big joke. I think he knew all along he was getting re-signed. I'll never listen to another moment of that show again

Grey's Anatomy needing major surgery. It's been horrid in 2008.

Dirty Sexy Money being cancelled

The Series Finale of the Shield which was one of the best of all time.

The last season of Boston Legal and it's fantastic ending

The History of Howard Stern Part II

Well that's a few of the most memorable moments of 2008 at least according to me.
