24 1:00AM-2:00AM Review and Predictions

This has been one of the best episodes of 24 that I think I've ever seen. Plese close the page now if you haven't watched last night's 24) Scroll down to read my recap and thoughts

First the highlights

A tearful reunion for Kim and Jack
-Jack (for now) refuses to let Kim try and help him via the stem cell method to fight the bio-weapon). This was one of the most powerful scenes of 24 that I've ever seen. I still don't think we've seen the last of Kim or the last of her surprises. As I posted last week, there have been many rumors of a grandchild for Jack, and I'd guess that would be just the collateral Jack now needs to agree to the treatment. A grandchild would be almost too much for Grandpaw Jack to turn away and turn his back on.

Tony stopping the bioweapons (supposedly)-You just had to know that Tony was going to get to that detonator on time and stop the threat.

Jack once again saving the President's ass via the old "hint hint wink wink method"- One has to admire the gigantic cajones that Mr. Bauer possesses to tell the President that he thinks she's lying, but then again, this is the man that bugged the pen of Charles Logan to get him to confess to being behind the David Palmer assassination.

Jonas Hodges being taken in custody just as he's laying out his master plan
Jon Voight has been one of the best 24 villains ever (but to be honest, are we sure he's the villain, more on that in a bit). Voight has made Hodges into a man not only to be respected by the president, but someone who's feared by the President as well

No Olivia this week-Yay!!!! I hope we don't see her again for a bit on the show. She's Sherry Palmer Jr.

The Shocker at the end of the episode
Tony appears to choke Larry Moss to death (there was no silent clock, I watched it twice). Now I'm not sure that Larry Moss warrants a silent clock, but we've seen in the past that no silent clock means no death. Look, I've said from the beginning of Season 7 that I detest Larry Moss and I'm sure the staff of 24 wanted to make him a hated character, but the last couple of episodes, he's become a bit more likable, and now the staff of 24 has apparently killed him off. Now the real question comes up. Did Tony kill him out of a desperation to avoid being prosecuted, or is he the evil mastermind that many folks on the intertubes have believed him to be since the beginning of Season 7? Could Tony be the person that Hodges was talking about when he was taken into custody? Could Tony end up being the ultimate villain and the ultimate match for Jack Bauer in the 24th hour? God knows he has several reasons not to trust the government and to turn his back on it, so the reasoning is there. From reading the wikipedia page, it appears that Tony will appear in Season 8, but in what capacity? Will he be in jail?, on the run?, or will he be right back at CTU/FBI helping Jack fight terror? I can see both sides of it really. From looking at the previews for next week, it appears that Tony is in cahoots with the bad guys, but who knows what will happen. That's why this is the best show on television bar none. I'm still in a bit of shock at this episode. I so wanted Tony to make it thru this and be the true hero that he has been in six of the seven seasons of 24, but I'm truly beginning to doubt that. I think Tony is the bad guy and I think he's been in cahoots with the terrorists the whole time. One thing is for sure, it will be a long 6 days, 19 hours and 42 minutes till the next new episode.

Digg me!!!
