I bought the Composite cables so I could do double duty on my HDTV and my Portable DVD player. The Composite and Component cables are the same price and I just didn't see a need to get the component cables since the signal is only upconverted to 480p and tv shows and movies won't play in High Definition on the IPhone anyways. The video quality is pretty good to be coming from an IPhone.
