Catching up on Television (Grey's Anatomy and Life on Mars)

I finally got around to watching the last two episodes of Grey's and it seems like it may be starting to come around a little. I know that I've been negative and harsh on Grey's, but the last two episodes have been better. I enjoyed the storyline with the young sick boy and the death row inmate. The last two episodes may have saved Grey's from "season pass" hell on my DVR. It was this close to joining Nip/Tuck, Private Practice, My Name is Earl, and others but it saved itself.

Life on Mars was nothing short of fantastic Wednesday night. I'm going to start a new segment during my Life on Mars reviews with Ray's line of the week. Ray Carling (played by the brilliant Michael Imperioli) uttered one of the better and most risque lines I've ever heard on broadcast television

"I'd like to put some butter on those taters"

Utterly brilliant line. It was a bit of a Sopranos reunion this week with Vince Curatola playing the role of a rival squad captain to Lieutenant Gene Hunt. It's damn good to see Johnny Sac again, and just like with Christophaaa, it's weird to see him playing a cop. It was a very good episode and it was the first time that 1970's Sam got it on with a lady, albeit Lieutenant Hunt's daughter. I'd imagine that will cause problems later. I'll stand on my soapbox and sing like a broken record, that Life on Mars is the best new show of the season and no one is paying attention. It's a brilliant concept for a show and I hope that it catches on with the Lost Crowd and draws big numbers, well at least big enough to get a second season. Please do yourself a favor and go on over to ABC.com and catch up on this show. It has one of the best and most star laden casts on television, along with a strong story to boot. For the record, if anyone figures out how I can watch the British version in America, it would be most appreciated. I can't seem to find any R1 DVD's of the series nor is it available on ITunes or Netflix.
