NSA spying on Americans

On GMA this morning, Brian Ross presented a story about how members of the NSA were recording and transcribing calls of American service personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the officers said that anytime there was "pillow talk" and "phone sex", the tapes were marked and passed around for others to laugh and listen to. The same people who are defending the Patriot Act are now the victims of the Patriot Act. I'll post a link to the video later, but this doesn't surprise me at all. The Patriot Act is one of the most corrupt acts in American History. So much for just listening in on terrorists huh? I'm glad that American servicemen and women have now become the butt of jokes in our government, while they're saving our butts. It's high time the Patriot Act was gone.

I read this too and it makes me sick. But I must say that I am not surprised. The Patriot Act was always bullshit and it was only passed because people were scared of their own shadows after 9/11. It is one of my huge complaints against Bush/Cheney and the Republican controlled congress. That the current democrat controlled congress passed the newer version of the surveillance law and let this continue is a tremendous disappointment to me. They folded, plain and simple.
