NBC to pick up 24?

Several internet sites are reporting  that 24 may make a move to NBC, as the peacock network is at least considering it.  I'm not so sure this is a good move as NBC would need to commit to at least a FULL 9th season and we all know how NBC loves to cancel shows either during or (see Southland) before the first episode of the season has aired.  I'm almost certain that perhaps it's time to let Mr. Bauer ride off to the silver screen for a few movies.
