Buy a giant jar of spaghetti sauce. I get the huge (HUGE) jug of Prego for $1/lb and store it in the fridge. I use it for spaghetti (duh) and to make home-made pizzas. It's also handy for a dipping sauce. It stays good in the refrigerator for a long time but it can also be frozen and thawed as necessary.

Ashley- This is Barb- do you plan your menu a week or month ahead of time or wing it? I find I waste so much food because it sounds great when I plan the meal- but than something always comes up the night I plan to prepare it- so I stick the meat in the freezer- and once it goes in the freezer it is lost forever. Not good about thawing meat and than using it- I know you don't use meat but when you did?
Hi Barb. I do things backward but I'll try to explain it as "Tomorrow's tip" (dramatic voice so this tip is a cliff-hanger....)
