Christmas - Where Are You?

Ah, black Friday. The yearly "running of the soccer moms", savagely at each others throats trying to grab the last wii. I have never participated in the spectacle, mainly because I don't wanna be trampled by a sea of high heels. Now that its over, stores across America are breathing a sigh of relief - for now.

But I often stop and think, is this what Christmas is all about? Desperately trying to save a buck or two on little Jimmy's 50" television set? Of course parents want to make their children happy by getting them what they want, but sometimes I think gifts consume the true meaning of Christmas. Parents these days are too focused on gift buying. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Super Saturday - come on. Has Christmas really turned into this?
