Anticipation for Madden and NCAA=slim to none

This year I just don't have that anticipation for Madden and NCAA that I've had in years past. I've always been a much bigger fan of NCAA Football than Madden, but given the problems with the rosters and such this year with NCAA (see Pastapadre.com), I'm not even sure I'm going to pick it up if they're not up to snuff and if they're not fixed. The true joy of playing NCAA to me is with correct named rosters and the ability to at least beat Bama and Florida virtually every single year. I'm sure that TeamBuilder is exciting to a few folks, but not exciting enough to run the risk of borking the rosters for NCAA. I've never been a big fan of creating teams to look like my high school complete with true rosters and colors, but some folks are and that's fine. I'd rather have had EA scrap Teambuilder and focus time on fixing the rosters.

See that's a huge problem with EA Tiburon at least in my book. They spend too much time focusing on gimmicky shit to get Little Johnny to play their games rather than fixing problems and stopping new problems with their games from year to year. The lone exceptions to this are NHL and FIFA. The FIFA and NHL development teams take the time to listen to their fans and make gameplay much better. FIFA09 was simply put the finest sports game I think I've ever played. I've played so many manager modes in that game that I've lost count and had just countless great matches. I'm still playing it almost a year later and I've never done that with another sports game. I don't mind paying yearly for a sports game so long as the improvements and positives outweigh the negatives.

I am completely fed up with NCAA. I have never missed a game in the series. This year I am passing and I am extremely pissed off about the entire course the game has taken. My favorite video game franchise of all time has turned into a pile of crap because the producers do not listen to the customers.

Madden, OTOH, looks like solid gold. I kid you not. A lot of love went into this game. Only time will tell if it lives up to the hype, but my pre-order is already in.

Great blogging as usual, Dave!'

You know whats funny is that you posted that and yesterday I went to GameStop to pick up Ghostbusters.. By the way real fun game..Back to my point I had some trade in money put down for reserves on both of those titles and I used the credit to get GB cheaper and the guy was like "You don't want the EXCLUSIVE DEMO for Madden and I was like No, then it hit me I am tired of paying $60 for a roster update and some minor changes that I could care less about.

And another thing I hate is the stuff they rip out for the NextGen versions of the game..The franchise mode on the PS2 is so much better...and I hated NCAA last year...

I am just waiting for NHL 10, the game that the developers actually care what there customers want in the game...

Good stuff Dave, Glad your still down with the Kidd Chris Show, best show on any kind of radio

I may very well pick up Madden and skip out on NCAA if the rosters aren't fixed. I hope both are good, but both pale in comparison to NHL and FIFA. Tim, send me a FR on XBL (itsmedavetn)and we'll do some co-op Ghostbusters. I'll always be a fan of Kidd Chris and am so pleased he's back. The show is hitting on all cylinders again and is as good as it was in Philly.
