Admittedly, I don't know alot about Slingplayer, but I do know that the whole appeal of such app would be to watch your recorded items on the go with "On the go" being the key phrase which to me means, anytime, anywhere, not just over WiFi. $30 is quite a lot to spend for an app which only works over WiFi. I know that Sling intended to use a 3G connection as well, but supposedly, AT&T had data concerns and wouldn't allow it, therfore gimping the app at least for most Sling users. I can't see this being a big seller since a sling user would have to be somewhere with WiFi to even make the program work.
