Infamous Demo Impressions

I went to Best Buy this morning to get a demo for Infamous and bottom line, this game is impressive. It reminds me so much of Crackdown but even the demo surpasses Crackdown as one of the best open world type superhero games. The graphics are phenomenal and the controls are intuitive and easy to pick up. I did one or two of the missions before the timer ran out and had a blast. I feel this game will be a huge hit for Sony and will hopefully sell some PS3's once the buzz starts to go around (although honestly, MGS4, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, Resistance, and MLB09 are perfect reasons to get a PS3). The demo forces you into both good and bad roles and I honestly have to say that I'll be playing this game thru twice. Once evil and once good since the powers differ for both.

This is one of those demos that Sony should have put out to the whole PS3 community instead of just giving it out early for pre-ordering at a few select retailers. The amount of hype this game would have gotten had there been a wide release of the demo today instead of on the 21st would have been amazing. Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3 (perhaps more than my 360), but Sony needs to replace the marketing team they have on staff. This game IS a system seller I believe and is one of the best open world games I've ever played. There's so much to do in the demo that you'll easily run of time before you finish all of them up. A demo this great makes the wait for the retail product even harder. Here's hoping some silly retailer sells it early and I can get my hands on it before the 26th. If you can get to a Best Buy and preorder, you'll get the demo free. I'd recommend the demo to anyone who has a PS3. Just lots of fun.

It is really good. I played thru the demo four times yesterday. I wish this one was coming out sooner.
