24 2AM-3AM Wrapup and Predictions (Warning Spoilers Ahead)

Yet another great episode that matches the episode from last week.  Spoilers below, you've been warned.

HEADLINES
Larry is indeed dead.  So much for the theory that he was still kicking thanks to no silent clock.

Kim not only has a husband but Jack has a grand daughter named "Terry" as well.

Tony shoots himself but Jack is so much smarter than Tony.  Jack had it figured out once he got onto the scene that Tony was somehow involved and all it took was a call from the agent who was debriefing Jack to confirm his suspicion.

Jonas Hodges takes the pill to try and kill himself and save his family, but it apparently backfires at least according to the previews for next week.

Tony's accomplice takes out the FBI, but Renee Walker still stands.  We already know that she's coming back next season so there was little to no suspense that she was blown up in the building.

Jack points his gun at Tony, then promptly has a seizure leaving him to do nothing but stare up at Tony in a sense of pity and amazement.

As I said above, yet another great episode to match last week's barn burner.  You had to know that once Jack was on the scene, Tony's little plan would be blown to bits.  I'm sure Tony wasn't very happy at all to see Jack out in the field.  The only person smarter than Tony on 24 is Jack and even being sick, he still has the sly on Tony. So is Tony a bad guy or is he working to take down the bigger "cog" that Jonas Hodges was talking about?  I'm still holding out hope that it's the latter, but I'm not really sure at the moment. We hear the blond fake lawyer talking to one of the "cogs" perhaps that Tony has been the only thing good the whole day.  So the question is, who's the bad guy?  Is it Charles Logan?  Noah Powers?  the ruler of Sengala whom we haven't seen in quite some time?, or a mixture of all three.  I'll stand by my theory that Tony is after Logan and this is the only way he can find him.  Thinking back to 24 Redemption, I still can't get the scene with Noah Powers and Allison Taylor where they're discussing Sengala.  It seemed to me at the time that it was a bit odd that he was so nonchalant about the Sengala issue.  I think he and the the ruler of Sengala are somehow involved in all of this and the whole Sengala conflict was manufactured by Juma, the ruler, and Powers to force the US Military into a conflict to avert their attention to an attack on American soil.

Hodges at least tried to kill himself but apparently failed since we see him very much alive in the previews for next week.  Who says the US healthcare system sucks?  Dead men tell no tales, but this one will cave on the whole operation and will give Jack the info he needs to bring down whomever is responsible for all this sometime in the next five hours.  I think Jon Voight has been one of the best villains yet on 24 and I'm glad to see he made it thru an attempted suicide.

So Kim is married and has a child named rather appropriately, Terry.  As I've said on numerous occasions, I think the promise of seeing his grandchild will be enough to force Jack into the treatment he needs to live.  I've seen many men brought to their knees at the sight of a grandbaby, and I don't feel that Jack is any different than any other proud grandfather out there.  I do think that Kim will be involved in more than Jack's treatment.  I'd guess that Tony takes her and forces a showdown with Jack.  Poor Kim, whether it's a cougar, parents of a child she's nannying, or anyone else, she always gets involved and I don't think it's any different this time around.

It looks like next week will be another good one and yet again, Tony is on the run.  The scene at the end of the episode was very powerful.  Jack couldn't speak and could only look up at Tony as Tony took his pistol and Jack's trust along with him.  If Tony is bad, he's not only betraying Jack's trust, but Chloe and the dearly departed Bill Buchanan's as well.  As I said above, I still think the end game for Tony is Logan.  As I've said a few times, I might be right, but I'm more than likely wrong and it sure is fun to guess.

digg me!!!
