More Front Office Manager Impressions

I played a bit more today before coming into work and I'm so impressed with this game. I've got a pretty good idea where the low scores came from and it's a body part of the reviewers. This game is so deep that I'm scared of scarring the Cubs and the Devil Rays forever by making a wrong move. The scouting portions are amazing as is "in game" play. I set it to 2x play and finished up a game in around 20 minutes or so. There are a few issues though that I've run into and I'm hoping my readers can help out if it's just in the options and I can't find it. Here's the good and the bad from one day of play.

The Good

I love the fact that there is no commentary. Last night I listened to podcasts on my IPhone while playing.

The sheer magnitude of the whole game. There's just so much to do that it's a bit overwhelming at times.

I love actively participating in the game without actually playing the game.

The Bad
I'd love to see a pitch count for both my pitcher and the opposing pitcher. Maybe I'm just overlooking it, but I'd love to see it on the screen without fumbling thru menus.

I wouldn't mind replays for big game changing plays

The salaries are outrageous for some of the major players. As I type this, Manny Ramirez is sitting in the FA pool asking for 20 something million a year. I haven't seen some of the outrageousness that's cropping up at other places.

The menus aren't truly as bad as some of the reviewers have made them, but they are a bit confusing at first

The graphics aren't quite up to snuff, but hey, it's nice to have a graphics in what's basically a management sim, so I'm not bitching much.

I'll put up a full review for the game in a bit. I never write up a review for anything till I finish it, and I won't quickshot a review for this game. This game is like fine wine and should be enjoyed a bit at a time, but for now I will say, if you are a baseball fan, this is a MUST HAVE game. Sure there are some issues, but what game doesn't have issues? It's well worth $40.
Please Digg me if you enjoy something I've written.
