A tough choice

I was asked a very tough question by a friend of mine the other day. If there were no Libertarian Party and I had to vote McOldGuy or Our Lord and Saviour Barack Obama, who would get my vote? I thought for a bit about it and I still don't have a very solid answer. I tend to lean very conservatively on financial issues and government issues (less government, less control, etc) and very liberal on social issues (Gay Marriage, abortion, etc). It comes down to which is more important, the social issues or the government issues. Either way, a vote for either candidate is a bit like asking if you'd like to be shot or stabbed. You know you're dying either way, so what difference does it make? For the record, I still don't have a decision. I detest both candidates and their vice presidential candidates. I'll say it this way, if Ron Paul were the Republican nominee, I'd easily vote Republican. How's that :) ?
