9/11 Seven Years Later

So here were are one day past the seventh anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on US soil in our history. I think we all will remember where we were when it happened and what we were doing at the time. I'll spare the personal story of where I was and who I was worried about it since it's irrelevant now. For the record, I believe that 9/11 was a real event and was caused by Al-Queda. As corrupt as the US Government is, I don't believe the complete and total bullshit fabrication that is being presented by "Loose Change" and the other 9/11 Truthers. For the record, I've spent my own personal time which will be lost when I die watching each one of these bullshit artists' videos.

My main purpose of this post is simply one question: Are we safer now than we were on the night of September 10th, 2001? I believe that the answer is a resounding "no". Sure we've captured a few of Al-Queda's top soliders and one geeky AV Nerd who used to be an American, but we've failed to capture the big fish and the reason we went into Afghanistan to begin with: Osama Bin Laden. At this point, I have to believe that Osama Bin Laden is either dead or will die before we capture him, either of laughter or of kidney failure. Instead of dealing with a lame duck leader like Sadaam Hussein in Iraq, we should have went full force after Bin Laden.

9/11 came along at the perfect time for the government. As I've said on this very space before, the majority of Americans have bent over backwards for the fucking they've received in the form of civil liberties being taken away in the name of the War on Terror. As Michael Franti and Spearhead said "The War on Terror is a War on Peace". Our asses join our phones, computers, cell phones, and other electronics being tapped by the government. Why did it take the government six years to find out one of their own scientists was the one sending out Anthrax? We're inching closer to a "Big Brother" type state in this country and it doesn't seem that majority of Americans seem to care.
